Cambodia Gambling Dens
July 31st, 2019 by Shane

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling den wagering is prohibited. Eight casinos are situated in a generally tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are supposedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat gambling hall, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that highlights a number of luxuries aside from the gambling den, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight table games.
